About the Impact Kids After-school Ministry

Impact Kids is a high energy student ministry of ‘InFaith’, a non-denominational mission that seeks to reach the un-churched in America for Jesus Christ.

Impact Kids was established in 2009 by field staff Jeremy and Danae Hoyt as a tool of outreach to grade school kids in the Pikes Peak region of Colorado.  The Hoyt’s are passionate about seeing kids encounter the God of the Bible who loves them and has incredible plans for their lives. Impact Kids uses the Bible to teach kids about God’s character, how to live for Him and how they can impact the world.

What we do

The traditional Impact Kids meetings run from 1 hour and 15 minutes to 2 hours. During that time, we offer homework help, an after-school snack, and recreation. In addition, we engage kids in several different activities to help students grow in their relationship with God.  The Bible lesson is always the core activity, accompanied with these other strategic faith building activities.

‘Impact the Planet Station’

We believe kids can change the world today. During the meeting we have the kids circle around a globe and hear different needs that exist in other nations. We point to the area of the earth that needs attention, then ask the kids to stretch out their hands to the globe and join the group in praying for that specific need. We hope that kids will gain an awareness and a passion to contribute to the needs of others around the world.

Impact Kids Creed:

Each week we recite the ‘Impact Kids’ creed that sums up everything we want kids to know about following Jesus Christ in their world.

Bible Bowl and Small Group prayer time:

Nearing the end of each meeting, we break up the students into different age groups for a fun time of ‘review’. Using different ‘games’ we ask the kids to answer questions about Bible facts, the lesson and ‘the Verse of the Day’.  Also included in this time we ask the students our ‘Coaching Question’ for the week. The Coaching question gets kids thinking about how they can apply the lesson to their lives. This fun time closes with kids participating in prayer for their own needs.

‘Verse of the Day’

We are eager to see kids memorize verses from the Bible. There is nothing like having God’s Word hidden in your heart. During the lesson time we review the ‘Verse of the Day’ several times, giving kids an opportunity to say it from memory.
